DOWNRIGGER

Controlled depth shing lets you get your

ATTACH AND LOWER DOWN WITH THE WEIGHT

LINE RELEASE REMOVE AND REEL

To rig, attach the weight (or Cannonball) to the

cable, and use a “line release” to attach the

weight to the line. Place the rod in the rod holder

and lower the weight to your desired depth.

While trolling, the weight of the Cannonball keeps

your lure at your desired depth and allows it to

“swim” more naturally behind the weight. On some

Cannon downriggers, you can cycle the weight up

or down, or keep it a set distance from the bottom.

Once a fish takes the lure, the line release lets go

of the line and the fish is on.

After you see that the fish is on, remove the rod

from the rod holder and reel in your catch.
